Thanks for the turnout
We thank everyone who turned out to connect with their neighbors Wednesday night. From the interest shown, we look forward to having future meetings and expanding the information on our website.
Those in attendance heard featured speaker State Senator Tony Avella (11th District) speak on rent stabilization issues including changes he hopes to put forward to the laws that govern the Rent Guidelines Board. Senator Avella also graciously offered his assistance to individual attendees seeking clarification of the status of their won apartments.
Special thanks to Crime and Prevention Officer Brian Dietzel and Courtney Cariello, community liaison for Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (25th District), for their helpful advice and comments.
Queens Community Board #8 member (and FMTA member) James Gallagher, Jr., shared the latest news about new neighborhood merchants and explained several initiatives designed to enhance our community.
Also discussed at the meeting was the new radiators being installed in selected buildings on 18hth Lane, ongoing security and parking issues, and the VASP program (security deposit alternative).
