Many seem less than fully aware that the June 28th Democratic primary included a contest in which two candidates would be selected. For the record, the two selected were Karen Lin, who campaigned actively and Maria Gonzalez who did not. Gonzalez’s result is considered an upset as she ran without the approval of the Queens Democratic Party and the New York City and Queens County Bar Association, defeating another candidate that had those approvals. (Lin also had approvals from all three.)
